Xperia play released by Sony

The much awaited playstation Smartphone by SonyEricsson was finally released which unfolds the way for the next generation video game console integrated smart phones. Sony Ericsson seemed to have introduced with a zeal and vigor in the Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona. This paves way for the beginning of new battle on Smartphone market. This gadget is expected to take on Microsoft’s Xbox live that is already available on Windows phone 7. Xperia play is claimed to be the first Smartphone certified with playstation and also running the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It is packed with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Also the Smartphone will be accessing content provided by the playstation suite which is a platform to port the playstation content and also to develop and certify content to android based portable devices. The mentioned gadget will support FWVGA 480x854 pixel resolution and bears a 4-inch multi-touch display. The gadget has a sliding display which encloses the action buttons, direction buttons, selection buttons and a touch pad required for the playstation experience. The Smartphone caries the TimeScape user interface on top of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread. SonyEricsson also claimed that the Smartphone will have a 3D game play at 60 frames per second. The company also exclaimed that more than fifty new game titles will be published from around 20 different content publishers. Other key features available in Xperia Play are proximity sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer and a Digital Compass. Also with the help of Gingerbread it is possible to turn Xperia Play into a mobile hotspot to connect up to five Wi-Fi devices. It is also said that Xperia play will be introduced in a GSM and a CDMA version for some specific markets. And above all these the pricing of the phone is yet to be released.
